Here’s a quick look at my design process for Kitty Hearts. Read the captions on each photo and I hope you enjoy!
I usually start a design by creating the elements and then refine them as I work on the composition. I added a white “denim” texture over the pink heart in the background.
Here you can see I moved Kitty towards the center and added a fourth heart to add balance. I also added the lavender “icing” on the heart.
The design is starting to come together at this point. I switched to the Purple Matte finish, which makes the artwork pop! The black outline on the candy hearts is gone and I added a darker complimentary color to add depth to each. I’m feeling pretty good at this point!
Here is the final artwork as rendered by Zippo. Mrs. 66 suggested that I have Kitty holding one of the hearts and as always she was spot on!
